Customs
and immigration officials are now on-site full time!
Bahamas
Customs and Immigration are now located on site at Port Lucaya
Marina, Grand Bahama Island. "This is very welcomed news
for all boaters visiting Port Lucaya Marina", says Noel
Clarke, Resident Manager. "The wait is now over! Boaters
awaiting Customs and Immigration clearance need only but to
walk to the new Customs and Immigration office located
dockside opposite our Marina office and do their clearance
there during office hours. Now vessels wishing to come to
Grand Bahama Island or clear to go on to the Berrys, the
Abacos or New Providence can do so right here!"
The Customs and Immigration office at Port
Lucaya Marina opened on January 1, 2003 in order to facilitate
the timely clearance of pleasure vessels arriving at Port
Lucaya.
The opening of this new office has been a
coordinated effort between Bahamas Customs and Immigration
officials, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the Grand Bahama
Tourism Board and the management of Port Lucaya Marina.
"We want to make it as convenient as possible for our
visitors to enjoy their boating experience in the Bahamas.
This is a great step forward towards expediting the process of
clearing Customs and Immigration" stated Noel Clarke.
Customs and Immigration can be reached at
the marina office number, 242-373-9090 ext. 323 or 325. For
