A competition designed to reward anglers and crews that enjoy sport fish for Tunas in a friendly and competitive spirit.
LOCATION: Port Lucaya Marina, Grand Bahama Island
Grand Bahama Island is one of the prime fishing destinations for Tuna fishing in the Bahamas and is the home of the famous Tuna Canyon located less than 20 miles from Port Lucaya Marina.
ENTRY FEE: $1,500 per boat
The entry fee includes the participation of up to four anglers per boat. Additional crew or anglers will be required to pay an extra participation fee of $250 for every additional person. Participation in the tournament consists of receiving four tournament t-shirts per boat, a Welcome and a Farewell cocktail party, two weigh-in bars and a Farewell dinner.
SCORING SYSTEM:
1 point per pound of eligible tuna weighed in. Eligible tuna are yellowfin and blackfin tuna. The minimum weight is 25 lbs. Each boat will be allowed to weigh their two heaviest tuna per day. The daily winner will be determined by the sum of the weights of the two heaviest tunas weighed in by a boat. The weights of two eligible tuna per day will be carried forward towards the overall results. The overall winner will be determined by sum of the heaviest five eligible tuna.
ANGLING RULES:
IGFA angling rules will prevail.
LINES:
5 lines per boat
TEST:
80 lb. test manufacturers stated line. Proof of purchase and spool maybe required for inspection by tournament committee.
FISHING HOURS:
Boats may leave the dock at sunrise and return prior to weigh-in closing if they are to weigh fish.
Boats failing to be at the weigh-in station prior to weigh-in closing, will be disqualified from the days fishing and any catches will not count.
WEIGH-IN:
The weigh-in station will open at 8:00 PM and close at 9:00 PM sharp!
BOUNDARIES:
No boundaries and the Grand Lucayan Waterway may NOT be used.
TROPHIES:
The trophies will be awarded at the discretion of the Tournament Committee and based on the catches, which have been recorded.
